Why The Corn Cup Chronicles?

Standard

Like many people, I’ve decided that 2012 is the year of my blog. It’s the year to share my musings with an audience greater than my Facebook friends (who I know I drive crazy with all my posts!)

Why “The Corn Cup Chronicles”?

The title permeates much deeper than my newfound affection for the Mexican corn cup treat (sold outside Hispanic grocery stores in Texas). Corn Cups represent simplicity, foreign cultures, ingenuity, perseverance, coexistence, gluten-intolerance and food.

Why do you care?

I promise I am interesting.

The last decade of my life has delivered my son, layoffs, financial woes, international relocations & travel, marriage hurdles, dietary challenges and hormonal issues. Yet this same 10 years has sustained my optimistic life perspective full of delicious “lemonade from lemons”. I truly believe that I can’t change what is, or wish for what is not. I believe must live consciously in the present and make the most of what life serves up!

  • I’m ridiculously happy most of the time.
  • I love to cook, bake and create.
  • I live in Seattle – but have lived all over the place.
  • I’m a recovering professional.
  • I try to live health consciously, without being obsessive.
  • I’m gluten-intolerant.
  • I’m a mom.
  • I hate to exercise, but do it.
  • I have freckles.
  • I’m a wife.
  • I’m environmentally aware.
  • I know I am far from perfect.

I’m on a journey. My crazy life is evolving every day and I want to share my travels.

So… welcome to The Corn Cup Chronicles. Help me craft my life. Share your input, comments and ideas. As I said, my life is evolving. There is not a thing I can do about it beside revel in the fact that it is MY life and I control my reaction to it. I’m going to seize this day as best I can! Join me?
